Mesothelioma Picture

June 10, 2010

Mesothelioma is an uncommon type of cancer caused by exposure to the once accepted building material, asbestos. It has been estimated that around 200,000 people die a year from this type of cancer. The cancer forms from the protective coating that covers much of the body’s organs, the mesothelium. The disease carries a poor prognosis to anyone whom is affected by it. Earlier screenings are vital to anyone who wants to have a fighting chance of beating this horrible and wretched disease.

Pictures of this fatal disease can be found by anyone with a reliable internet connection. These picture can be CT scans, actual pictures of the tumors extracted, pictures of survivors and of the victims.

CT pictures

Using CT scans technology doctors can view the disease inside a living, breathing person. These pictures are usually not that disgusting, but the faint of heart might want to skip these. Usually the CT are cross sections of the tumor in the specific part of the body , like the heart or the kidney.

Tumor pictures

There are tons of pictures of the actual cancerous tissue that we like to call tumors after they have been extracted from the patient. They are usually not that large in size compared to other tumors. They are also pretty disgusting so the faint of heart should not view these.

Mesothelioma Pictures of the survivors and the victims

These are usually just pictures of the actual people who had the cancer. Sadly the survival rate is not so high, so the former group has more pictures. Men and women are both affected, but since construction workers are usually men, you will find more pictures of men.

Pictures are worth a thousand words, so anyone wanting to see what the cancer looks like should check out Mesothelioma pictures.

April 3, 2010

If you enter the word aspestos into Google, you will get almost 50,000 results back. That’s some impressive number for a typo or misspelled word.

Of course, we are talking about asbestos, actually. Asbestos is a material that occurs naturally. It is of fibrous consistency and friable. How are pleural plaques and pleural thickening related to each other?

February 23, 2010

If I had to describe it in unsophisticated terms: Pleural plaques are causing pleural thickening. February 6, 2010

The question as to whether or not old asbestos tiles should be removed from a house has been debated controversially since years. A group of experts recommends not taking them out, the other part strongly believes and argues to have them removed rather sooner than later.

Remarkably, both sides use the same reasoning to support their argument, saying that the risk of being exposed to asbestos can lead to very serious health conditions, such as asbestosis, mesothelioma and certain forms of lun...
